On Saturday, February 17th, we had the pleasure to host members and leaders of different houses of worship, neighbors, classmates, friends and the Sanford City Manager to visit our mosque. We started off with the recitation of the Holy Quran with English translation, followed by a welcome speech by the Outreach Head and Ally Najafali, who briefed the congregation on the importance of dialogue amongst religions and civilizations. It is through dialogue that different nations, religious groups, and sects can reduce the amount of ignorance of one another which is the cause of hostility and violence. Tours were provided of the Mosque and we concluded the event with chai and snacks in an informal setting whereby you heard lots of interesting chats. Together we ate, we laughed and we learned from one another!
